Wren and I traveled with the New Old Time Chautauqua again, the place we met 7 years ago. We have taken the last 2 years off, but decided to go for just a week for this tour that went to State parks in Washington and Idaho. Here is the bulk of us, after our show at the Westgate Prison.

With the Nez Perce Tribe.

Our final day and show that we were with Chautauqua, was in Dayton Ohio.
We performed the rope act, along with the pig act (and Michelle captured this sweet move that I don't even remember doing!).
After the show, this sweet gal, Zella, and I met and shared some good juggle club time together.
After we returned home, there was the most flattering piece of "fan mail" to Chautauqua, highlighting the pig act... What a compliment!
"Your evening entertainment in Dayton was excellent. The pig dance with the fans was the funniest thing I've ever seen - and I'm 73. I laughed until I cried - had tears running down my face. Thank You! Barbara Carlton"

Chautauqua in Anacortes

The New Old Time Chautauqua came to Anacortes. Wren hosted and made breakfast at his generous mom's place. Thanks to Thaddeus Hink, you can see a bit of what the show was like!
Here's Wren and me performing our club juggling act.
Godfry Daniels and his floating ball.
The talented and hilarious Ty.
Alex Allen.
The Karamazov's were there.
And of course, the amazing Noodelini!

More on The New Old Time Chautauqua Tour 2013

Here are a few photo snippets from the shows. This first one is me MCing at the Lincoln Theater in Mt.Vernon, the jugglers around me are foreshadowing for the big juggle finale.
This is the Reverend Chumley at our show, on his property Chumlyland (where we have been staying for the first week of tour), performing his "spiritual" key-bending act.
The Flying Karamazov Brothers at the Lincoln Theater (Amiel, Steven, Harry, and Rod).
One of my favorite and funniest people, Sam Smyrdikov Williams Karamazov, performing his translation of "La Bamba" at Maritime Park in Bellingham.
Another of my favorite performers is Pokie, performing his mime and hoop illusions act for folks at Project Homeless in Bellingham.
The Big Juggle! Wren has been organizing this the last two years, and boy is it awesome to see so many jugglers on stage at once!
That's all for now, but more fun to come!

New Old Time Chautauqua Tour

This year our tour is in the Northwest along the I-5 corridor... Seattle, Mt. Vernon, Concrete, Olympia, Camano Island and more-idore! Here's a jumble of the goings-on of the tour, like Wren and I after roving at Bellinghams Project Homeless event.
This is how our meals are served on Chautauqua... we're so lucky!
Our friends and long-time Chautauquins Harry Levine and Anne Gavzer got married on tour this year!
Part of the swag they handed out was clown noses for the guests!
I've been performing the Chair Dance for around 5 years now...
and this is my first injury from it... a pulled calf muscle. It's pretty hilarious to me, as the routine is extremely un-athletic. It's crutches for me for a while now... maybe an act will transpire...
Anyhoo, so far the tour has been super fun... I'll have more posts with photos from shows, etc. soon!

NOTC on Vashon Island

The New Old Time Chautauqua had a benefit show on Vashon Island recently, and I got to come along and perform for a quaint community with some really fine folks. Here's the awesome poster for the show!
One of my roles was rotating MC, and sometimes you have to stall when an act isn't quite ready... this sweet girl come up and told a joke for all of us.
One of the notorious Vaudeville traditions is getting a pie in the face on your birthday, so here's Harry being celebrated in style.
 Godfrey Daniels was there.
As well as poet, Kevin Murphy.
The Flying Karamazov Brothers with Smirdikov doing one of my favorite bits he does called "Pass the Buck" where he's just "too darn busy" to reach the club.
Justin Credible.
Wren and I performing Yippie Kai-yay.
Once again Sam performing a favorite of mine... Old Fat Juggler, sung to the tune of Old Man River. The first time I witnessed this, I actually fell out of my chair laughing.
Thanks Sam and Chautauqua benefits for all the laughs.
