The Real Food Show

It seems like the project was a success. The Real Food show performed for 10 elementary schools in Bellingham, thanks to the idea and sponsorship of the Bellingham Food Coop. Here we are at the annual Food Coop meeting, showing a snippit of the show... where we stack up the proteins, and Frank balances them on his face, just long enough for Beans to get excited and congratulate him with a vigorous pat on the back.
Here we are at Boundary Bay during a food-sense program.
I love that the kids were front and center!!! And then off center for this trick under the tent.
The team (plus Amber... who'se definitely been part of the team)!
Beans, energetically talking about real food.
 Beans is a real-food cheer-leader... without actually being a cheer-leader!
Here we are during our first dress-rehearsal. Juggling different sized and shaped things are obviously still a new skill I will eventually hone.
The kids go crazy for this part.
Frank and Beans, from our promo photo-shoot.
I've had a great time performing this show, and feel a huge love for it. I'm so happy that the Coop and the schools also appreciate this show and want us back next year!!!

Wren's crossword car

Oh boy, oh boy. Wren had a sweet idea of creating a giant crossword for his car. Here's how it went... I got to help spray paint the top white.
Then he mathed out the squares (it's a 15"x15" puzzle).
Then he took magnets we got from Chazzam Graphics and spray-painted them black.
He made cute tiny number magnets to go in each square.
He ordered two containers of kids fridge letter magnets for creating the words.
This is the final product. Pretty sweet, eh?
You can download the custom car-themed puzzle here!
Enjoy!

Barnum and Bailey Circus

Wren and I went to see the Barnum and Bailey Circus with our friends Rod and Saxtor.
I enjoyed the tiny dogs on tiny horses a lot. There was a musical chairs with volunteer kids that was the funniest thing. The finale with motorcycles in a circular cage with two ladies in a two -high was probably the most thrilling.
When we rolled up, there were protesters outside claiming animal cruelty. It was hard to fully enjoy myself thinking they may be right. I wikied B&B, but it's so hard to know the full truth. I sure hope that these animals are being treated well.

Housesittin' for the Folks

I spent the week in Port Townsend house-sitting for my folks while they were on an Alaskan cruise! Yay! The dates coincided with Joannie and Daniels wedding, which was quaint, charming, and delightful. Isabella was there, along with a handful of other beloved Chautauquins.
Katie and I got to decorate Joannies Poe steed!
I took the ferry over from the Sh'Bang with Chloe, Annie and Rod. One of my (not) guilty pleasures is I love doing the jigsaw puzzles on the ferry!!!
Here is one of the loathed (but so cute!) deer in dad's orchard.
I met up with Squeek and her dog Pam at the lake. They swam around a bit, and I paddled around in the new boat dad bought... it was a blast!
I made a bunch of things while I was there, like dried fruit, zucchini bread, and finished a costume, but my favorite was this 3-d welcome home card for mom and dad!
I thought they turned out soooo cute!
It was so fun to hear about their adventures when they returned. I laughed so much. I love these people. I surely do.

Sh'Bang!

Sh'Bang 2014 was awesome. Wren manned the waterslide, Chloe and KC came for the first time, and i got to wear a moustache, eat delicious healthy food, and perform Shanella.
Sh'Bang on the rock!
 The Quarry's beach-front view.
And side view.
 Wren's secret den entrance.
 Sh'Nanigans.
 Noodle and Jasper soapbox'n.
The pinata!

Todd made me a glorious moustache... glorious.
Shan and I before the "Funeral" Sideshow.
 Poki...RIP.
Naah, he's alive!
 Inside the Justincredible Sideshow tent.
Shan and I performed Shanella in the Saturday night show,
but before that, we taught aerobics on the beach, with our Todd-inspired beauty-hair. Then we double zip-lined into the quarry.
It was a hair-raising good time.

Wren Hosts Will's Trivia

This was Wren's big night. Substitute-hosting for his favorite host Will!
Wren and his team started a fun endearing game, where they cleverly use Will's name in their team name... like Will Pickle, SkWillix, or WillAtio. Some players did the same for Wren (Wren Forrest Wren, and Wren-der's Game).
Here he is, the trivia-master's trivia-master, in action! And it was a full house!
He really gets into his trivia. And he did a fabulous job.
My role you ask? Score-keeper. Excuse me... Score-keeper extraordinaire. Though Wren made it extra hard on me on my first day at the job with a few little nuggets here and there, it was awesome and I prevailed! I got free food, free drink, and was paid $50 ta boot. If this was how it played out every time for me at trivia, I might be just as regular as Wren.
