50 Shades of Play

I taught my first workshop! Well, technically my second, but the first was just a quick, free, one-hour ditty at the Circus Campout. This one had a name, a price, and a pre-meditated outline! The attendees were: Dream, Chipps, Greg, Robyn, Heidi, Ani, Banjo, Phoenix Chicken, Jason, Laura, and Anna Luna. Here's a list of the games and exercises we did over the 2 days.

Games:
Red light Green light (notice people's genuine "play" face... when is it, and who is, interesting)
Say my name like
Sound ball (imaginary ball passing)
Ball pass with emotion (talked about Ringmaster)
Name 7 things (improv: we say yes by counting to 7)
Clap with movement, so "peel-off"
Ha-ha laugh on floor with rivering
Sexy stretch warm-up
Floor rolls (Premise)
Scream circle (improv looking up in circle)

Exercises:
Song about someone (backup singers, with dance moves)
Round by through (performed with different eye contact positions, relaxed and play face)
Scenes from a hat (walked around, then played out)
Stand for with relaxed straight face
Little pieces of shit
Worlds greatest
Trip and recover from heel kick

Stuff we didn't do:
Rounds
Avner's "creating rapport" and "I know" chair setting
Childhood career, favorite book, what you like to do onstage
Exits and Entrances (3 people with parade is one example)
Mr. Hit
Yes game (play this before do group work to help speed up the collaboration process)
Handouts... like the Eccentric principles
Where's the game (just thought up this one)... maybe reminiscent to the bells with David... but doing something, then checking in... is the checking in the game? Is the action the game? etc.

I'm stoked to teach another workshop, and folks are on-board! I'll be teaching 3 consecutive Wednesdays in November, YAY!
